CDM For Principal Designers

Course Description

This course has been designed to provide Principle Designers, and Designers, with a detailed overview across all aspects of the Construction (Design and Management) Regs 2015, to enable them to fulfil their responsibilities correctly, whilst making sure other Duty Holders are meeting their legal obligations.

On completing the course you will have an understanding of:

  • The legal position of the contractor and principal contractors
  •  The roles of the client, principal designer and designers
  • The requirements for assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and resources
  • The requirement for project documentation.

This 1/2-day course is suitable for all Principle Designers, and Designers who have a requirement for a construction project.

  • Duration: 4hrs.
  • Delivery Methods:  This tutor led course is delivered online (Teams/Zoom) (Subject to required resources). Alternatively, it can be delivered as a dedicated course at your own premises. Minimum numbers apply.
  • Assessment: Practical examples and case studies.
  • Certification: Upon successful completion delegates will receive a CDM for Principal Designers certificate.

  • CDM 2015 overview and application
  • Duty holder responsibilities
  • Assisting with preparation of the client brief
  • Assisting with the preparation of pre-construction information
  • Planning, managing and monitoring work during the pre-construction phase
  • The elimination, reduction, and control of risks through design
  • Health and safety file content and requirements.
