Ladders are responsible for the majority of WAH accidents
To provide learners with the knowledge to select appropriate work at height equipment for a task, correctly locate and safely use ladders and stepladders, and inspect ladders and stepladders for damage.
Learners will also be provided with an understanding of current relevant legislation in order to be able to thoroughly inspect ladders and stepladders, identifying safety critical faults and to record equipment details and inspections as outlined in PUWER.
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE
Any persons of whom are required to inspect and use ladders or step ladders.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN
During this informative course, learners will:
Assess and determine when it’s appropriate to use a ladder or stepladder
Correctly locate and safely use ladders & stepladders
Have an understanding of:
What they need to know about the law and standards relating to ladders & stepladders
Hazards in the use of ladders & stepladders
Storage & handling of ladders & stepladder
- Current Legislation, Code of Practice, Regulations and Guidance affecting work at height.
DURATION: 1/2 Day.

ASSESSMENTS: There are assessment activities:
Multiple Choice Questions
Ladder & Stepladders fault finding
Carrying, positioning & ladders and stepladders.
CERTIFICATION: Upon successful completion, learners will receive a certificate valid for 3 years for Ladders & Stepladders for Users
OTHER INFO: For On-Site/Client Premises courses, please ensure you can supply suitable ladders/steps for training purposes, if not supplied by PGL.
