OTHER INFO

In every workplace, first aid must be provided as follows:

  • A first aid kit (including the appropriate equipment)
  • The person who administers first aid
  • Information about first aid for all employees.

The UK law requires every employer, regardless of company size, to plan for the provision of first aid at work. The employer must ensure that someone is always available to provide or arrange first aid. This requirement applies even if the designated first aider is absent. A valid first aid certificate is required for the designated first aider. Employers are not required to have a fully trained first aider on staff, but a person must be designated to take charge of first aid in the workplace.
