Buried Services Supervisor

An informative course for anyone supervising buried services

Our Buried Services Supervisor course will prepare those organisations, or persons responsible, to implement a greater Safe System Of Work (SSOW) to improve overall planning and supervision when working around buried services and reduce the likelihood of striking or damaging services during works.

The course adopts a Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) style approach to enhance overall understanding and implementation. PDCA is a universally recognised ISO Safety Management System methodology, endorsed by the HSE, HSG 65.

With over 60,000 service strikes on average per year, the consequences of hitting buried services can be vast including death and injury, as well as the expensive associated costs. No ground investigation can be 100% accurate, however implementing good working practices, better training, and specific supervision coupled with the correct planning application will help drive down issues and improve on-site behaviours.

Who Will Benefit From Attending

Persons responsible for planning and coordinating buried service detection, supervising safe working practices, and user competence at site level. This course is also ideal for Organizations that are striking services and would like to explore further ways of reducing the likelihood and strive for that zero-strike annual target. In addition, various clients (Tier One) embed service strike reduction into their supply chain engagement activities, of which this course will assist in developing and raising the standards within this area of works and satisfy the mandatory training for HSG47 if specified by your client.
