The standard when working with excavation support systems
This EUSR Category 4 – Install, Inspect & Remove Steel Support Systems course covers the minimum training and assessment required for those working to install, inspect and remove Steel excavation support systems. The standard has been derived from National Occupational Standards and incorporates the relevant requirements of HSE HSG150, HSE HSG47 guidance, R97 CIRIA Trenching Practice and City & Guilds Level 2 Awards in Excavation Support Systems (6146-21). Each category is mapped against National occupational standards. All our EUSR courses are delivered by tutors who have credible years of experience and knowledge working within the Construction, Utility and Civil Engineering Sectors.
As well as theoretical knowledge, this course also includes practical training and installation of ground support systems undertaken in a realistic training environment.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Managers, supervisors, safety professionals and/or operatives who are required to oversee or carry out work in or around excavations. If you physically install, inspect or remove Steel support systems and haven’t had any formal training, this course is essential to minimise risk to yourself and those around you.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN
REFRESHER: Categories 4 has a one-day refresher course which is taken every three years when your certificate has expired. Categories 3,4 and 5 refresher is a condensed version of each category, and covers industry updates, amended guidance notes, amongst other relevant topics. This refresher includes a classroom and a live dig excavation session. This practical session includes the installation of timber, steel and/or proprietary systems (aluminum walers with steel/timber sheets/single and double acting frames/trench/manhole boxes), followed by the safe extraction and reinstatement of the excavations. All these are done to a specific temporary works design.
These courses can also be ran separately as single unit courses or together as multi unit courses.
