This Plant Machinery Marshal N133 NPORS certification delivers the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding to communicate and guide plant machinery safely and effectively. It is for plant operators who require practical and theory-based training and assessment to direct or position plant machinery as part of their daily duties on-site.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This Plant Machinery Marshal N133 NPORS certification is for anyone requiring training and assessment to guide and direct vehicles and machinery on-site.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

• A basic understanding of the industry and the relevant legislation
• The dangers of working in the industry and responsibilities of a plant machinery marshal
• Knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular plant they are guiding
• Signs and signals, approved hand signals, and different forms of communication
• Identifying and maintaining PPE appropriate for plant machinery marshal duties
• Conducting all necessary safety checks at the work area, including stop blocks and tipping areas
• Setting up exclusion zones for unloading
• Guiding vehicles in a forward and reverse direction, including confined spaces and “blind areas,” safely and efficiently
• Environmental considerations and impact
• All end-of-shift and shutdown and parking procedures

COURSE DETAILS

DURATION:

• Novice training – one day with a maximum of three delegates
• Refresher training – one day with a maximum of three delegates
• Assessment only – one-day session with a maximum of six delegates

DELIVERY METHODS: Open Course | On Site.

• If this course is delivered on-site at your premises, you must ensure you have a safe working area, suitable in size to the scheme rules and correct, safe, and examined equipment. Note, this is your responsibility as the booker. Please speak with our team if you are unsure or require more information.

ASSESSMENT: NPORS practical observation and short answer question paper.

CERTIFICATION:

• NPORS/CSCS Construction Plant Operator Card, valid for two years. OR
• Traditional Operators Card, valid for three to five years depending on sector-specific or in-company requirements.
