NVQs in Construction are competency-based qualifications used to demonstrate your experience and skill in a specific trade on a live site.
Our Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Interior Systems – Dry Lining Finishing is designed to assess your competence across varying aspects of preparing and finishing walls and ceilings in the workplace.
The CSCS Red Trained card is valid for 2 years, during which time you are required to undertake the relevant NVQ to upgrade to the Blue Competent Card. On completion of your NVQ qualification, along with passing the relevant CSCS tests and the CITB HS&E test (within the last 2 years), you will be able to apply for the Blue CSCS card. This will not only demonstrate you can work and operate safely, but also boost career and earning potential.
Who Will Benefit From Attending
Any person who has current experience and is looking to acquire their Level 2 NVQ and gain a blue competence card. The qualification will assess your competence in your current job role. Therefore, you must be working in Dry Lining to complete the NVQ. You must also be aged 16 or above to enroll.
NVQ Details
- Duration: The NVQ duration is based on your ability to gather the relevant evidence to complete the qualification and can be completed at your own pace.
- Delivery Methods: This NVQ is completed on site and either through a digital e-portfolio platform or a traditional manual paper-based portfolio.

Assessment: An Assessor will use a variety of methods to assess your competence including visual observations, Q&A, professional discussions, previous paperwork, and process evidence and witness testimonies.

Certification: Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an accredited NOCN Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Interior Systems (Construction) – Dry Lining Finishing.
What Does the NVQ Entail
The NVQ comprises 4 units in which you must complete by demonstrating your evidence against this set criteria. Each unit contains many different questions and practical requirements about different aspects of Dry Lining. The units will comprise of:
- Health, Safety and Welfare.
- Productive working practices.
- Finishing Dry Lining Walls and Ceilings.
- Moving, handling, and storing resources.
