Our Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Gas is our one-day health, safety and environmental awareness course for those working on operational sites. Our SHEA Gas course is accredited by EUSR ensuring that the training matches industry standards within the utilities sector and is in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.

SHEA Gas comprises 9 modules covering key areas:

  • Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities
  • Module 2: Understanding the effect of our work on the environment
  • Module 3: Identifying risks and hazards and risk control
  • Module 4: Common hazards and controls in the workplace
  • Module 5:  Occupational health hazards
  • Module 6: Responding to emergencies
  • Module 14: Highway working and excavation (Gas)
  • Module 15: Pressure regulation installations
  • Module 16: Safe in premises

This scheme also aligns with CITB standards, ensuring access to CSCS-controlled operational sites. It also includes the relevant requirements of HSE guidance documents:

  • HSG47 Avoiding Danger from Underground Services
  • HSG150 Health and Safety in Construction

This is a must for workers handling excavation operations, delivering both theory and practical knowledge in a realistic environment.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Managers, supervisors, safety professionals, or operatives working on operational sites and those needing to understand SHEA Gas principles and safe excavation practices.


WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

COURSE DETAILS

DURATION: Full Day or Half Day

DELIVERY METHODS: Face-to-face classroom training or Online Remote e-Classroom.

NUMBER OF LEARNERS:  Maximum of 12 learners per day.

ASSESSMENT: Multiple choice assessments per module

CERTIFICATION: Successful learners will receive an EUSR ID card with the CSCS Logo, valid for 5 years.
