With the Christmas period fast approaching, statistics show an unfortunate rise in alcohol and drug misuse, road incidents, abuse, neglect, and mental health challenges. While this should be a joyful time, some may struggle or make poor decisions that impact lives. Let’s keep it happy by staying informed!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Any workplaces looking to highlight and raise awareness about key topics related to the Christmas period to ensure safety and health, returning in January ready for 2025. It’s fun yet relaxed, informative yet enjoyable. If you typically conduct training in December, this is a great alternative!


WHAT WILL BE COVERED

  • Drugs and Alcohol (D&A):
    • Factors, types of D&A, units and legal limits
    • Addiction, abuse, symptoms and effects
    • Practical examples using drink goggles and tasks for both D&A, support, and help
  • Driver Safety:
    • Winter driving and maintenance
    • Factors such as fatigue, distraction, time causing accidents
    • Road rage and drink or drug driving
  • Safeguarding:
    • Understanding types of abuse and neglect
    • The impact of the Christmas period
    • How to support those affected
  • Mental Health:
    • Exploring the correlation between Christmas and mental health
    • Examples of mental health issues
    • Personal health principles
    • How to get or offer support

COURSE DETAILS

DURATION: 1 day (4 sessions of 1 hour and 50 minutes each).

DELIVERY METHODS: On-site or at one of our centers for dedicated bookings.

ASSESSMENT: No assessment—just highly interactive, relaxed, and informative presentations.

CERTIFICATION: Everyone who completes the course receives a certificate of Continued Professional Development (CPD) and valuable information to keep themselves, their families, friends, and colleagues safe over the Christmas period.
