HOW MUCH TRAINING DO YOU NEED

You must do 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence  to drive a lorry, bus or coach. The deadline to do your training is shown on your card.

You can do your required hours in many ways; some of the most popular examples are either to complete your hours in one block (5 days) or complete 7 hours annually over a 5 year period. You can check how many hours of training you’ve done in the current 5-year period. It’s illegal to drive professionally if your training is not complete by your deadline.

Drivers with acquired rights are required to complete their next block of training by 9 Sept 2024.
