Refresh your management skills
This SMSTS Refresher course is for delegates who have previously passed the full five day SMSTS course and can provide proof of attendance. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The SMSTS Refresher course includes a wide range of topics, many building on the previous five day course as well as introducing new subjects.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Anyone who has previously attended and completed the five day SMSTS course and requires a refresher.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN
The aims of this SMSTS Refresher course are:
- To improve awareness of recent developments in construction, legislation and health, safety, welfare and environmental issues
- Identify measures that will assist the practical implementation of responsibilities established by new legislation and new working practices
At the end of the course Delegates will be:
- Aware of, and able to implement all updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects them in their role as a manager
- Aware of and able to implement new guidance and industry best practice
- More aware of their duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment
COURSE DETAILS
Duration: 2 Day
Delivery Method: Open Course / Online (Remote) options available / Onsite at request (Minimum numbers will apply)
Assessment: 1 x multiple choice assessment
Certification: Upon successful completion of the SMSTS Refresher course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years
Competency: Understand basic Health and Safety standards on site
Mandatory entry requirements from CITB:
- Good understanding of spoken and written English. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area
- You will need to provide a valid ID for the course, such as a copy of your passport, driving licence, CSCS card
FUNDING SUPPORT
SHORT COURSE GRANT: This course is eligible for the following short course grant via CITB:-
- Grant Rate & Tier: £70 (Tier 2 Refresher) | Grant Code: Automatic
SKILLS & TRAINING FUND: Are you a CITB-Registered employer, up to date with your Levy return and employ between 1-250 direct staff or CIS (No PAYE). If you answered yes, this training MAY be offset with funding as part of an application for between £2,500 up to £25,000 for training your workforce.
