CAT A Awareness
This module is designed to help employers meet legal requirements and ensure staff work safely around asbestos. Asbestos-related diseases cause around 5,000 deaths in the UK annually, with construction personnel at the highest risk. Regulation 10 of CAR 2012 mandates that all workers who may come into contact with asbestos must receive asbestos awareness training, including supervisors and building professionals like surveyors and architects.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- This course is suitable for those working in or around buildings built or refurbished before 2000, particularly in trades where accidental asbestos exposure is a risk.

CAT B Non-Licensed Training
The CAT B (Non-Licensed) section equips delegates with the skills needed to undertake non-licensed work with Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM). This training covers practical and theoretical skills needed to safely handle ACMs in various tasks such as drilling, removing tiles, and repairing asbestos cement materials.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- This training is for tradesmen whose work involves disturbing asbestos materials, including tasks like drilling holes, removing floor tiles, and repairing roofing or cladding containing asbestos.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Identification of non-licensed works with ACMs
- Control measures for working with ACMs
- Specific tasks involving disturbance of ACMs (e.g., drilling holes, removing AIB panels, and asbestos cement products)
- Safe waste handling, decontamination, and exposure control methods
