SMSTS Refresher
This SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) Refresher course is designed for delegates who have previously successfully completed the full five-day SMSTS course and can provide evidence of attendance. The course aims to bring your knowledge of health and safety up to date, while also offering a comprehensive overview of legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The SMSTS Refresher course covers a broad spectrum of topics, building on the foundation laid by the previous five-day course and introducing new subjects.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Anyone who has previously completed the five-day SMSTS course.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
- Enhance awareness of recent developments in construction, legislation, and health, safety, welfare, and environmental concerns.
- Identify strategies to facilitate the practical implementation of responsibilities mandated by new legislation and revised work practices.
- Understand and effectively implement updated health, safety, welfare, and environmental regulations relevant to their managerial role.
- Adopt and apply new guidance and industry best practices.
- Heightened understanding of duties and responsibilities pertaining to health, safety, welfare, and the environment.
COURSE DETAILS
DURATION: 2-day course
DELIVERY METHODS: Our SMSTS Training Courses can be tailored to suit your business and individual needs. Sessions are conducted at our specialised training center or can be arranged at your premises
ASSESSMENT: Delegates will be required to complete a multiple-choice assessment paper at the conclusion of the course
CERTIFICATION: Upon successful completion of the SMSTS Refresher course, participants will receive a CITB accredited certificate that remains valid for a duration of five years

OTHER INFO
A solid understanding of spoken and written English is essential. For Site Managers, the CITB SMSTS qualification, also known as the Site Safety Plus Scheme, is a recognized qualification outlined in the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) for the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM) (Demonstration of competence, Appendix 4).
FUNDING SUPPORT
SHORT COURSE GRANT: This course is eligible for the following short course grant via CITB:-
- Grant Rate & Tier: £140 (Tier 2) | Grant Code: Automatic Payment
SKILLS & TRAINING FUND: Are you a CITB-Registered employer, up to date with your Levy return and employ between 1-250 direct staff or CIS (No PAYE). If you answered yes, this training MAY be offset with funding as part of an application for between £2,500 up to £25,000 for training your workforce.
