Our Street Works Reassessment Training is available at our technical centre in Bordesley Green, located just a short distance from Birmingham City Centre and outside the clean air zone. 6. Modules

The training consists of multiple modules, each designed to address various aspects of street works; for Operatives, it focuses on reinstatement and carrying out the work, and for Supervisors, on monitoring and managing the street works.

Please note, the reassessment modules and criteria may vary depending on what it is you require to refresh and requalify in.

Location and avoidance of underground services: Monitoring or carrying out Signing, lighting and guarding; coordination procedures and code of practice.

  • Monitoring or reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials.
  • Monitoring or reinstatement of non-bituminous sub-base and road-base materials.
  • Monitoring or carrying out laying practices and reinstatement of bituminous materials; specification and types of materials.
  • Monitoring or reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete highways.

7. Preparation

Preparation is not mandatory for a street works refresher course, but delegates can review relevant materials and guidelines online.

8. Renewal

Upon completion of the training, delegates can renew their Street Works Qualifications Register Card (SWQR) for another five years. In addition to your CAWBI accredited certificate of attendance (Operative, or Supervisors).

9. Cost

10. Certificate Registration

Upon successfully completing the course, we will register you for your Street Works Qualifications Register Card (SWQR) and confirm individual achievements with CABWI (Awarding Body for NRSWA).

11. Failure Protocol

If you fail the Street Works Operatives or Supervisor course, you’ll get feedback on where you fell short. Sometimes, you can retake the failed parts immediately. For more serious issues, you may need extra training and a later reassessment. You won’t get your certification until you’ve passed all sections.
