Street Works Training Courses (New Roads and Street Works Act NRSWA)

Course Overview

For anyone doing work on local UK roads, the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991 mandates delegates to meet certain safety and quality standards. This includes roads with speed limits up to 60mph for single carriageways and up to 40mph for dual carriageways. Candidates completing NRSWA streetworks courses like NRSWA Operative, NRSWA Supervisor, or any single unit qualifications and reassessments, will get the skills and knowledge required to meet these standards. PGL offers Streetworks Training for Operatives and Supervisors, with full courses delivered over five days and refresher courses over two days, both including qualifying final assessments.

Outcome

Upon successfully finishing the NRSWA streetworks courses, delegates will receive a certificate from an awarding body such as CABWI. Additionally, they will be registered on the Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR) and receive an SWQR ID card. This certificate and ID card, valid for 5 years, will list the specific street works units the participant is qualified to work on.

Delivery

The street works courses are conducted by our experienced and friendly trainers in our Birmingham training centre, using a mix of classroom learning and practical activities. Delegates must complete assessments and for each unit to qualify.
