The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities. Over a 3 day period, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is specifically tailored for individuals who are designated as first aiders within their workplaces. Additionally, it is an ideal choice for those with the responsibility of providing first aid in voluntary and community settings. COURSE DETAILS

ASSESSMENT: Continuous assessment by observation, practical and questioning.

CERTIFICATION: Successful learners will receive a personalised Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) e-Certificate immediately after their results have been submitted.

COMPETENCY: Able to react and administer life saving treatment.

In every workplace, first aid must be provided as follows:

  • A first aid kit (including the appropriate equipment);
  • The person who administers first aid;
  • Information about first aid for all employees.

The UK law requires every employer, regardless of company size, to plan for the provision of first aid at work. The employer must ensure that someone is always available to provide or arrange first aid. This requirement applies even if the designated first aider is absent. A valid first aid certificate is required for the designated first aider. Employers are not required to have a fully trained first aider on staff, but a person must be designated to take charge of first aid in the workplace.
