Our Manual Handling course focuses on training individuals’ and teams in the proper techniques for safely moving and handling objects, this includes low risk roles like working in an office, to higher risk roles such as Construction, Engineering, & Logistics. Manual handling training doesn’t just point out the bad, it helps to rectify it by showing best practice. Employees will be taught the correct ways of doing things and how to be safe in the future within their work place. One of the biggest causes of Lost Time Incident frequency Rates in the workplace is caused by poor manual handling; this course will help to reduce the likelihood of poor posture, poor technique and poor planning.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN
By enrolling onto this Manual Handling course, you will learn:
- Relevant regulations/legislation/guidance
- Duties of employees and employers
- Introduction to manual handling
- Principles of good movement
- Types and causes of injury caused by poor manual handling
- Anatomy of the body, including upper and lower limbs and the spine
- Identifying the Task, Individual, Load, Environment (T.I.L.E) as part of a suitable and sufficient Risk Assessment
- Mechanical aids and their usage
- Practical application of lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying a range of objects

COURSE DETAILS
DURATION: 1/2 day course.
DELIVERY METHOD: We offer multiple convenient learning options, including Open Courses in the Midlands and wider UK, On-Site training, and Online Remote Delivery.
ASSESSMENTS: Practical assessment, ensuring competency.
CERTIFICATION: Upon successful completion of the course you will gain a PGL Midlands certificate valid for 3 years.

SKILLS & TRAINING FUND: Are you a CITB-Registered employer, up to date with your Levy return and employ between 1-250 direct staff or CIS (No PAYE).
