Fire Warden Course

Requirement to provide training to staff

The Fire Warden (also known as Fire Marshal) course is suitable and designed for any person responsible for fire safety or who are designated as fire wardens/marshals within their workplace and understand their role and their duties within the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This course is equally suitable for those wishing to upskill their existing knowledge or develop a greater safety awareness and understanding about the hazards and risks surrounding poor fire management. This course is relevant across a multitude of industries.


WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE

This course is ideal for any person responsible for fire safety or who are designated as fire wardens/marshals within their workplace.


WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

This course has been designed to comply and meet the needs and requirements as stated within the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and covers duties and roles, fires and fire spread, evacuation and control, and general fire safety precautions and procedures.

  • Learners will develop their knowledge and skills in fire safety, to include:
  • Fire awareness in the workplace
  • Fire extinguishers in buildings and workplaces
  • Classes and types of fire
  • Safety tips when using fire extinguishers
  • Fire hazards and risks in the workplace
  • Effective fire drills
  • Fire alarms/smoke alarms and fixed installations
  • Assembly points and coordination
  • Fire evacuation – general principles and safety advice and plans
  • Fire risk assessment overview
  • Summary of daily, weekly and monthly Warden check.

COURSE DETAILS

DURATION: 1/2 day course.

DELIVERY METHOD: We offer multiple convenient learning options, including Open Courses in the Midlands and wider UK, On-Site training, and Online Remote Delivery.

ASSESSMENTS: Q& A throughout and multiple choice question paper.

CERTIFICATION: Successful completion of the course you will gain a Fire Warden certificate valid for 3 years.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Regulation 21 states you must include suitable and sufficient instructions and training on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by the employee in order to safeguard himself/herself and other relevant persons in the premises.


FUNDING SUPPORT

SHORT COURSE GRANT: This course is eligible for the following short course grant via CITB:-

  • Grant Rate & Tier: N/A | Grant Code: N/A

SKILLS & TRAINING FUND: Are you a CITB-Registered employer, up to date with your Levy return and employ between 1-250 direct staff or CIS (No PAYE). If you answered yes, this training MAY be offset with funding as part of an application for between £2,500 up to £25,000 for training your workforce.
