Help to prevent Plant related accidents
Vehicle Banksman training, often called Vehicle Marshal, will ensure that site-based traffic management is delivered safely and is done so of high quality whilst minimising risks to plant and people. The course also provides you with an understanding of the risks related to the movement of vehicles on site and how to support planning arrangements and general requirements.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The course is aimed at supervisors, managers and anyone who wishes to control vehicles on and around site in construction, security, manufacturing, hospitality, parking enforcement or anyone with the responsibility of loading, unloading and movement of vehicles.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
This course will give you an understanding of the dangers caused by a reversing vehicle, as well as covering the techniques and hand signals used to help drivers with manoeuvring reversing vehicles:
- The roles and responsibilities of colleagues involved
- Health and Safety at Work Act
- CDM
- Setting safety standards and work procedures
- Working with the relevant health and safety regulations
- The terminology of traffic management
- Pedestrian and vehicle routes
- Inspection of vehicles
- Signalling
- Risk Management
- How to layout the site safely
COURSE DETAILS
DURATION: 1/2 day course.
DELIVERY METHODS: Open Course | On Site.
- For on site delivery, a suitable area and working vehicle must be provided.
ASSESSMENT: Mix of theory and practical assessments.
CERTIFICATION: Upon successful completion of the course you will gain a PGL Midlands certificate valid for 3 years.

SHORT COURSE GRANT: This course is eligible for the following short course grant via CITB:-

SKILLS & TRAINING FUND: Are you a CITB-Registered employer, up to date with your Levy return and employ between 1-250 direct staff or CIS (No PAYE). If you answered yes, this training MAY be offset with funding as part of an application for between £2,500 up to £25,000 for training your workforce.
